Kathua, July 1: A programme was organized on behalf of Jammu and Kashmir Gau Raksha Samiti in Kathua today. During the programme Kathua Police was praised and honoure for its commendable work related to cow protection. Speaking on the occasion, president of the Samiti, Raj Kumar Gupta said that in the last three months, the Kathua police prevented the smuggling of more than 400 cows, which is a commendable act in itself. This also gives us an idea of how much cow smuggling is taking place. Therefore, it is our appeal that like the Kathua Police, everyone will have to make tireless efforts to protect the cow and the government should also get the harshest punishment for these smugglers, he added. He also presented SSP Kathua Romesh Kotwal with an idol of Gau Mata as well as Lakhanpur police station in-charge Sumit Sharma. Secretary Tript Shastri, Vimal Mehra, Surinder Salathia and several others were present in this programme. |
