Restoration of statehood one of our demands, Prof Soz
7/10/2021 11:09:30 PM
Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, July 10: Demanding restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, former Union minister and Congress leader Prof Saifuddin Soz Saturday said reducing the erstwhile state into two Union Territories (UTs) reflects extreme bankruptcy of Delhi.
The real issue is "Restoration of our Internal Autonomy", Prof Soz said in a statement this afternoon
He said we must realize that people are always recognized for their resolve to achieve the goal they have set for themselves. So, our goal is "Restoration of our Internal Autonomy" and we cannot compromise on this cherished goal", he said.
The Congress leader said that the mainstream political class, therefore, would be well-advised to remain steadfast on restoration of our "Internal-Autonomy". The moment the mainstream will stress on the Restoration of the Statehood as a priority, their plank on autonomy would get weakened.
It is, therefore, that all the emphasis should be laid on the restoration of internal autonomy, he said.
The short-sighted Union's ruling elite will realize sooner than later, the folly of Abrogating Article 370 of the Constitution of India on August 5, 2019.
Meanwhile, there should be no ambiguity on our struggle for restoration of autonomy, Prof Soz said adding "we should strengthen our resolve, by the day."
