SKUAST Jammu hosts webinar on higher education opportunities in US

JAMMU, July 16: Counselling and Placement SKUAST Jammu on Friday hosted a webinar on Overview of the Higher Education Opportunities in the US in collaboration with United States-India Education Foundation (USIEF).
Rupali Verma, Advisor, EducationUSA, New Delhi provided details about the opportunities for Indian students in the US. She also gave comprehensive details of the admission process in US universities and other institutions of higher learning. She talked about the reasons to choose U.S. as a study destination and things to consider while shortlisting universities.
She also spoke at length about different funding sources including scholarships, fellowships, teaching and research assistantships etc. She further shed light on different components of application process and requirement of GRE/GMAT and TOEFL scores for seeking admission in the US Universities.
Rupali further added that EducationUSA is an official source of information on US higher education and a member of the U.S. Department of State's network of over 450 international advising centres around the world. The webinar ended with the question answer session. Prof. Sanjay Guleria, Incharge Conselling and Placement Cell conducted the proceeding of the webinar.
