Week long plantation drive launched

UDHAMPUR, July 17: Dr. S.D.Singh Jamwal, IPS Director Police Academy/ ADGP Security/ Director SSG J & K launched a plantation drive at Police Academy Udhampur.
Dr. Jamwal inaugurated the plantation drive of Herbal Garden being created in the Academy premises and planted a plant of herbal tree in the Garden. While speaking on the occasion, Jamwal said that this is the third consecutive plantation drive in the Academy after his posting here as Director Police Academy, which shall continue for one week as about 1000 plants shall be planted during this drive.
He said in the first phase in the year 2019, Academy organized plantation drive and planted various avenue and medicinal plants In the 2nd drive large number of fruit plants were planted and also created a food park in the Academy. Now, in the 3rd phase of plantation drive, a Herbal Garden is being created in the Academy, as this is the perfect season of plantation. During this plantation drive more fruit trees of different varieties shall also be planted in the vacant spaces of existing fruit gardens and left over areas of the Academy, he added.
He said the main aim of the plantation drive is to involve the trainees and staff in such drives to make them environment friendly and to beautify the open land of the Academy. Shri Mohan Lal, JKPS (SSP) Dy. Director (Indoor/Training) and Shri Vinay Kumar, JKPS (Admn) also planted herbal trees in the Herbal Garden.
Among others Dy.SP Kuldeep Kumar Asstt. Director (Q), Dy.SP Sanmati Gupta Asstt. Director (Outdoor) Nodal Officer Plantation Drive, Dy.SP Tahir Hussain Asstt. Director (Admn), Dy.SP(S) Ramesh Chander Kataria, PS to Director SKPA Udhampur were also present on the occasion.
