JTC-SKF hold protest sit-in, stir enters 289th day

JAMMU, July 17: The ongoing protest sit-in held by Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC)-Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) J&K entered 289th day today at Jagti Township Nagrota Jammu. Addressing the protesters, Shadi Lal Pandita, President, JTC-SKF said that before coming to power, the BJP was making big claims that if the BJP forms a government it would solve all the problems of Kashmiri Pandits. He said that since the BJP government came to power Kashmiri Pandits have been persecuted and this as it has worked against Kashmiri Pandits. Pandita said for the Prime Minister's package employees an order was issued during the Congress government to build six thousand 2 BHK sets which the Congress government built at many places like as Shakhpora Srinagar while the present BJP government has issued orders to build only one BHK for package employees in Kashmir valley. Pandita said package employees should be paid the same salary as other employees and other all facilities to be provided. He also said that six thousand 2 BHK flats to be built in Kashmir valley for package employees should be constructed immediately. Pandita said we are also demanding increase the monthly cash relief of relief holders from Rs 13,000 to Rs 25,000 per family per month. Give jobs in the houses where there are no government jobs in the families for which a package of 20,000 jobs should be announced.
He also demanded to settle Kashmiri Pandits in 3 townships in Kashmir valley where 30 to 35 thousands families can live with all facilities. Those who participated in the protest included Raj Kumar Tickoo, Ravinder Koul, M L Razdan, Rakesh Ambardar, Rakesh Tickoo and others.
