DC Udhampur inaugurates women exclusive pink covid vaccination booth at DH

UDHAMPUR, July 17: Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Indu Kanwal Chib inaugurated pink booth Covid-19 vaccination exclusively for women in presence of Chief Medical Officer Dr K C Dogra at District Hospital Udhampur, here the other day.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that the initiative has been taken by the District Administration and health department for the convenience of females, especially pregnant women to save them from standing in queue for vaccination. She added that the main objective of establishment of Pink Booth is to ensure hassle free Covid vaccination services for females. She informed that around 95% frontline and health workers and 88% population of 45 year and above have been vaccinated in the District so far. The DC appealed to the females especially pregnant women to go for the vaccination as it is extremely important for immunity against the covid-19 infection.
After the inauguration, the DC accompanied with CMO had a round of different sections and wards of the hospital. She interacted with Doctors and paramedical staff of District Hospital and enquired about the functioning of the Hospital.
Among others, Medical Superintendent, District Hospital, Dr Vijay Raina, District Immunization Officer, Dr Chander Kanta were accompanying the DC.
