CHENANI, July 17: Government Degree College (GDC) Chenani under the aegis of its Internal Quality Assurance Cell and NSS Unit ‘Prayatna’ under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav in collaboration with the Environment and Social Welfare Society, Khajuraho, Madhya Pradesh and Unity of Nation Action for Climate Change Council (UNACCC), Gujarat organized a national programme on ‘World Day for International Justice’ on 17th July 2021. The Program was Live Streamed on YouTube. Prof Sangita Srivastava, Vice-Chancellor, University of Allahabad, Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh was the Chief Guest on the occasion. In her address the Chief Guest highlighted the issue of gender justice as the full equality and equity between women and men in all spheres of life. Dr Rajat Sharma, Chairman, Unity of Nations Action for Climate Change Council, Gujarat, India was the special Invitee on the occasion. While, Harveer Singh, District Judge, District Mahoba, Uttar Pradesh, India was the Special Guest. Ehtesham Hashmi, Advocate, Supreme Court of India and Member, Supreme Court BAR Association of India deliberated at length on different areas of criminal justice. Dr Sameer Joshi, Treasurer, Governing Council Indian Plastics Institute, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, the first resource person of the Day gave a detailed presentation on plastics, their disposal and Waste Management and laws associated with it. Imran Ahmad, Dy Superintendent of Police, Lalitpur, Uttar Pradesh, the second resource person defined the functions of criminal justice, its structure, procedures, tasks and correctional subsystems. Dr Ashwani Kumar Dubey, the Executive Secretary of Environment and Social Welfare Society, Khajuraho highlighted the theme of the programme. The event was anchored and convened by Dr Pragya Khanna, Principal, GDC, Chenani. Dr. Pragya Khanna was awarded the Godavari Academy Impact Award by the ESW, Society, Khajuraho in recognition to her initiative of organizing the Program within their Institute that had a positive impact. Dr Mohd Ashfaq Siddiqui, Associate Professor of Management, Infinity Management and Engineering College, Sagar, Madhya Pradesh presented the formal vote of thanks. |
