EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, July 17: A meeting was held at Jammu under the chairmanship of Sampat Prakash, a veteran Trade Union leader and State/UT President. In the meeting various issues of lakhs of govt employees and 3 lakh pensioners were discussed. A resolution was passed unanimously in the meeting that 11% DA released in favour of Central Govt employees and Central Govt pensioners be released in favour of 5 lakh UT employees and 3 lakh pensioners before Id-ul-Azha and in addition Rs 1000 Medical Allowance applicable to UT employees and pensioners in other UTs be also sanctioned in favour of the employees & pensioners of J&K UT since the UT budget is passed by the Home Ministry, therefore there should not be any variation between the perks being paid to employees and pensioners of other UTs.
The employees as well as the pensioners of J&K UT strongly demand to the LG & Chief Secretary to immediately sanction and release both the components i.e. 11% D.A and Rs 1000 as Medical Allowance instead of Rs 300, being paid to the employees and pensioners of the other UTs and Govt. order to this effect be issued before Id-ul-Azha so that pensioners & employees have a sigh of relief and their grievance is redressed.
