| GDC Kotranka organized webinar on “Career Opportunities in Economics” | | |

Kotranka, July 17: Government Degree College Kotranka organized a webinar today on the topic, ‘Career opportunities in economics’ under the guidance of Dr. Rajinder Singh, Principal of the college.
The webinar was organized by the Department of Economics under the aegis of “Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav”. Many students from GDC Kotranka and other degree colleges of J & K UT participated in the webinar.
The programme started with a welcome address to the Principal of the College, resource person, faculty members of the college and the students by Dr. Khursheed Ahmed (HoD Economics). Prof. Qyoom Chouhan assistant professor, Govt. College for Women Parade Jammu was the resource Person for the event.
Delivering his lecture, Prof. Chouhan discussed in detail the career opportunities in economics for the students. Prof Qayoom said that the students of economics have ample career opportunities from academics, civil services, think tanks and private sector. He added that the job market for the students of economics is expanding in Jammu and Kashmir with opening of private industries and schemes of government in different field for aspiring youngsters to open start ups.
Giving his remarks, Dr. Rajinder Singh, Principal GDC Kotranka lauded the efforts of the department of economics in organizing this event and also thanked the resource person for taking time from his busy schedule to make aware the students on the topic.
The programme was ended with a vote of thanks presented by Dr. Mohd Mushtaq, Nodal Officer, ‘Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav’. He expressed his gratitude to Dr. Rajinder Singh, Principal GDC Kotranka, for his enormous guidance and support. He further presented appreciation and gratitude to the resource person Professor Qyoom Chouhan for sparing time for the event by giving such an encouraging and informative lecture. |
