YCET organizes projectathon-2021

Jammu, July 17: Yogananda College of Engineering and Technology ( YCET ) organizes a project competition for final year students of all the departments called “Projectathon-2021” on 16th July, 21.
Er. Neetu Sharma, JKSPDC, Jammu judged the projects of Civil Engg. Department. Er. H. N. Bhat, HoD ( Mechanical Engineering ), Govt. Polytechnic, Jammu judged the projects of Mechanical Engg. Department. Prof. ( Dr. ) A. Nazar Ali, Rajlaxmi College of Engineering, Tamil Nadu judged the projects of Electrical Engineering Department and Mr. Vipin Verma, MD, Ecronsoft App. Pvt. Ltd., Bengaluru judged the projects of Computer Science and Engineering and Information Technology Department.
The judges said that events like this not only provides opportunities to students to collaborate or drive their own learning, but it also teaches them to acquire skills which helps them in future, such as critical thinking and time management. The formal welcome addresses were given by Er. Rajnish Magotra, HoD ( Civil Engg. ), Er. Neeraj Pandita, HoD ( Mechanical Engg. ), Er. Loveneesh Talwar, HoD ( Electrical Engg. ) and Er. Dinesh Gupta, HoD ( CSE/IT ) in their departmental competition. 5 projects were presented in Civil Engg. Department, 8 projects were presented in Mechanical Engg. Department, 5 projects were presented in Electrical Engg. Department and 4 projects were presented in CSE/IT Department.
Two projects were selected as winner and runner up from each Department. Keeping in mind the pandemic which is going on due to Covid-19 for the last one and half years some projects were developed by the students which are very useful to the society e.g. AI based Multi Disease Predictor, Shopping Application, GSM based Smart Highway, Atmospheric Water Generator, Automatic Seed Sowing Machine, Pneumatic Bench Vice, Previous Cement Concrete and Soil Stabilization by using Aluminium as a Waste. E-Certificates were provided to the winners and runners.
Er. Neeraj Pandita, HoD ( Mechanical Engg. ) coordinated the entire projectathon. To meet the challenges posed by COVID-19 and minimize the impact of pandemic on academic activities Prof. ( Dr. ) A. K. Srivastava, Director, YCET conceived the idea of Projectathon-21 and encouraged all the students to come up with good projects and present. The management of JGEI appreciated the effort put up by the institute for organizing Projectathon-21 and congratulated the winners.
