JCMS criticizes new land laws | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, July 19: Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha (JCMS) president Romesh Gupta has termed the new land laws in J&K, UT as totally discriminatory & unjustified, which has invited wide spread resentment from the Mahajan and Khatri biradaries . In a statement, Gupta has said that barring the two biradaries from sale and purchase of Agriculture Land in the U.T reflected the discriminatory attitude of present government, which cannot be justified in any manner. He said that it is beyond any logical as to why two particular biradaries have been denied of the right over sale and purchase of Agriculture Land. RC Gupta said that like other communities of erstwhile state of J&K, the Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha and the Mahajan and Khatri biradaries had wecomed and appreciated the decesion of the Narendra Modi led government to reorganized the state into Union Territory and had pinned of high hopes of ending discrimatory on the basis of Caste, Creed and religion but all fell flat. The members of Mahajan and Khatri biradaries are feeling isolated, cheated and discriminated . On behalf of the said biradaries Sabha has also written letters to Prime Minister and Union Home Minister expressing his displeasure over the decesion, sought their intervention in removing the dicrmanotry Laws, which are, in no way in the interest of the people. |
