JTC stages dharna, protest enters 296th day

JAMMU, July 24: The protest sit-in held by the Jagti Tenement Committee-(JTC) for the entered 296th day today at Jagti township Nagrota Jammu. Addressing the protesters, Shadi Lal Pandita president appealed to the LG of UT J&K to solve the growing problems of Kashmiri Pandits/Relief holders as soon as possible. Pandita said that the prices of food items, petrol, diesel, gas cylinder and other living necessities have gone up due to which the livelihood of relief holders is in deep trouble.
Pandita said we are demanding increase the monthly cash relief of relief holders from Rs 13,000 to Rs 25,000 per family per month. A package of 20,000 jobs should be announced for unemployed KP youths. Out of 20,000 posts 5,000 Class 4th posts should be given to unemployed youth who have passed matriculation and then later they could not study further due to poverty.
Recruitment of Kashmiri migrant youth on-spot in the police force should be conducted in Jagti migrant township and other migrant camps and non-camps so that Kashmiri migrant youth can also get jobs in police force, he added.
