Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 24: In a noble gesture, Kathua Police have initiated a step towards educating youth and imparting training to them on tips to qualify written and physical tests in various belt forces as well as police. Under "Youth Engagement Programme '', Kathua Police have started the training program in Hiranagar, Kathua, Billawar and Basholi areas of the district. "We are giving training to youth about how to appear in physical tests as well as written examinations in belt forces, police or armed forces," Ramesh Kotwal, Senior Superintendent of Police, Kathua here said. He said the officers from Kathua Police are selflessly training these youth in their respective areas. "The initiative is taken under "Youth Engagement Programme '' so that our youth, instead of engaging in other unwanted activities, can be channelised in the right direction," Kotwal said. The top cop added that a two hour training session begins at 0700 hours and as of now, nearly 600 youth in four tehsil headquarters, are undergoing the training. "This will remain a continuous feature so that the boys stay in touch with their regular practice and education and be able to chase their dreams," he said, adding that some girls are also being trained. "We will be training youth in groups so that they can appear in various competitive levels to join security forces," said the SSP.
