Early Times Report JAMMU, July 24: The Directorate of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh National Cadet Corps (NCC) is conducting a six-day 'Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat' online camp for cadets of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh and West Bengal and Sikkim Directorate from July 26 to 31. Defence spokesman here said that the aim of the camp is to foster a sense of unity and nationalism amongst the participating NCC cadets. The theme of this online camp is 'Kargil War 1999' and the objectives are to develop leadership skills, enhance knowledge base and public speaking abilities, peer learning through mutual interaction, foster team spirit and esprit de corps, improve soft skills, understand culture of own state and the participating state, cultural heritage, festivals, customs and traditions of the states. "Learning the language of each other and Interaction is one of the highlights of the camp. In addition, learning resources about cuisine and food habits, tourism sites and cultural programmes of the states will be shared extensively," said the spokesman. He said that online Camp is being organised under the guidance of Major General Ranjan Mahajan, Additional Director General, NCC Directorate Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh and conducted by a team under Brigadier R S Dahiya, Group Commander, NCC Group HQ, Srinagar. The topics being covered during the camp include, presentation on Kargil war, extraordinary tales of bravery from Kargil War, Know Your Kargil War Heroes, Poster Making competition on the theme 'Salute to Indian Armed Forces'. Poetry recitation on theme 'Bravery in Kargil War' and debate on role of youth in security of the Nation, SWOT analysis, cultural heritage, festivals, customs and traditions of the states. It is highlighted that NCC being the largest youth organisation of India, the organisation has quickly adapted to the e-Learning medium of study for conducting NCC training |
