GCW Udhampur organises Poster Making cum Quiz Competition

UDHAMPUR, July 24: To mark the celebration of 75 years of Independence under the aegis og "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav" & Guru Purnima, an online poster making cum quiz competition on the theme Vishva Guru Bharat was organized by the Department of Music, Government College for Women, Udhampur through google meet here today.
Principal, Government College for Women, Udhampur, Prof. Minu Mahajan was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
Prof. Minu Mahajan threw light on the aim behind celebrating the 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav'. She said that Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav will be a Jan Mahotsav to celebrate the contribution of every section of the society in freedom struggle and nation building in the post independence era.
She also appreciated the Music Department for holding the contest in the institution to mark the nationwide celebrations. She said that such types of contests would definitely provide a platform to budding students to channelize their talent in the right direction. Prof. Minu Mahajan urged the department to organize more such programmes in the future.
As many as 90 Students from different departments of the college participated in the competitions.
Later, the department of Music also distributed e-Certificates among the winners and participants.
The work of contestants was judged by renowned artist JKUT, M. Akram Khan and Sr. Artist DIPR, Jammu Suresh Kumar.
The proceeding of the programme was conducted by Assistant Prof. Yash Kumar.
Among others, HOD Music, Dr. Seema Sharma, Assistant Professor Shallu Jasrotia, Assistant Prof. Dr. Sanjay Kumar, Assistant Prof. Yash Kumar, other senior faculty members, staff members and a large number of the students also attended the programme.
