Vaccination of 18-44 age group in full swing: DC Ramban | 'Zero tolerance against Covid inappropriate behavior being ensured' | | Early Times Report RAMBAN, July 24: Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam today said that district administration was ensuring Zero tolerance against Covid inappropriate in public places to prevent resurgence of Covid infection in the district. Ramban Administration is focusing on more testing to assess actual positivity rate, besides sensitizing the people to prevent spread of Covid infection in the district, the DC said while addressing media persons. He said over 8000 tests have been conducted in the last week across the district, out of which 12 people were found Covid positive. "Around 67944 persons in the 18-44 age group and above 96% people in 45 year and above age group have been vaccinated in the district so far" he said and added the administration has mobilized more teams of the health department to achieve 100% vaccination of above 45 years within prescribed time. The Deputy Commissioner informed that the vaccination drive for the 18-44 year age group has witnessed overwhelming response across the district and a good number of people are taking vaccination doses daily. The vaccination process will be further scaled up to vaccinate all persons of targeted age groups, he said. The DC said that while taking strict action against the violation of Covid safety protocols, the enforcement teams have recovered nearly Rs 34 lakh fine since April 1. He said keeping in view the apprehension of resurgence of Covid infection, especially when commercial activities have increased, the District Administration has ordered the Enforcement teams to take strict action against violators, especially at busy markets and tourist spots of the district. The DC said that Police and MVD are conducting regular checking drives to implement the order regarding plying of vehicles at 50% of total seating capacity. Referring to relaxation in Covid restrictions and low positivity rate in the district, the DC urged the people to adopt Covid appropriate behaviour to avoid another surge in Covid cases. |
