Suspected drone spotted in Nihalpur village | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Kathua, July 24: Drone activities were spotted in village Nihalpur of district Kathua during the intervening night of Friday-Saturday. Meanwhile, the authorities sounded alert and started massive checking at various check points in the area as well as surrounding village. The unexpected presence of heavy force in the villages also created panic among the villagers of the concerned area. According to sources, at about 12.30 hours, on Saturday a drone was spotted in village Nihalpur, a few Kilometers from Palli Morh situated at Jammu-Pathankot National Highway. The moment police received information, SSP Kathua R C Kotwal and other officials reached the spot along with force. Expressing concern over the drone activity, SSP Kathua said that because of the drone attack at Jammu Air Base the district authorities have banned commercial, or private use of drones in several districts of the UT as drones have added new dimension to security threats. He said that after Hiranagar this is second time that a drone has been spotted. He further said that police is investigating the matter and people need not to be afraid of as the security forces are at high alert. |
