Sarv Dharam Seva Society kick starts plantation drive

JAMMU, July 25: Taking the mission of "Green India" "Green J&K" forward, and setting the ball rolling for monsoon plantation in Jammu Province and to mark the 73nd Van Mahotsav, Sarv Dharam Seva Society J&K in collaboration with J&K Forest Department has organized Mega Plantation Drive at RS Pura In the plantation drive former MLC TS Wazir and Rakeshwar Singh Rana Range Officer, Bahu today kick-started plantation drive.
In the plantation drive a variety of trees were planted. While planting saplings Chairman Manjeet Singh Azad said that the ongoing season is the best time for plantation of saplings and each and every one has to plant at least a one tree.
During the plantation drive Rakeshwar Singh Rana Range Officer, Bahu, Rakeshwar Singh Kurhan Block officer Bahu along with staff of forest department have actively participated in the drive by planting trees. It was also resolved by all to take good care of these plants & beautification of landscaping to clean up the environment and make it dust free.
On the occasion, President of the Society Jasmeet Singh appealed to contribute towards conservation of forests, environment by planting plants on all the available spaces and also said that inculcating the habit of planting trees and nurturing them as the trees are the only way to reduce global warming through Carbon sequestration and these can also help in groundwater recharge and reducing the pollution.
