Early Times Report JAMMU, July 25: Dogri Sanstha, Jammu honoured the top ten students who have obtained maximum marks in the Dogri subject of 12th class examination, conducted by J&K Board of School Education in the year 2021. Dr Ravi Shankar Sharma, Director School Education, Jammu was the chief guest on this occasion. The ten students, who have obtained this distinction, are Diksha Sharma, Nikita Bhau, Anjali Manhas, Sneha Khanna, Sakshi Devi, Sunil Kumar, Ashima Sharma, Nandini Jasrotia, Manu Verma and Sapna Devi. Out of these ten students, seven belong to Jourian and three to Jammu. Each student was presented with a cash prize of Rupees One thousand, a memento and a certificate. The parents of all these meritorious students were also present at the function. While speaking on the occasion, Dr Ravi Shankar Sharma congratulated the students for their achievement and complimented the Dogri Sanstha for coming up with the noble idea of honouring these achievers. He said that this will, on one hand encourage and inspire these students and on the other hand, play an important role in promoting and popularizing Dogri. He further added that Dogri, being the major regional language of Jammu region, the Directorate of School Education, Jammu will take all steps to strengthen and further promote this sweet language. Prof Lalit Magotra, President of Dogri Sanstha, while introducing the programme, presented a brief history of Dogri Sanstha stressing that Sanstha, from the very beginning, has always taken new initiatives for the development of Dogri language and today's function is also one such step. He announced that this will become a regular yearly feature in future. The programme was conducted and anchored by Vijaya Thakur, herself a prominent poet of Dogri and Publicity Secretary of Dogri Sanstha. The vote of thanks was presented by Dr Chanchal Bhasin, Secretary of the Sanstha. |
