SAMBA, July 25: We The Human Forum for Nature and Mankind, today, in collaboration with Forest Department started plantation drive at Badhori and Ismailpur in Samba district. Apart from fifteen hundred ethnic varieties of tree plants, one thousand number of seed balls are going to be sown at Meen Sarkar, Meen Charakan, Badhori, Raya, Barri Brahmna, Rarri, Patti and Birpur in Samba district. K Y S Manhas, Retd Principal District & Session Judge, Capt Lalit Sharma IFS APCCF Retd Chairman & Vice Chairman We The Humans, Ashwani Kumar DFO Eco Task Force, S. Prem Singh, O P Verma patrons, Prashant Charak, Sanna, Balkar Singh and other prominent persons were present on the occassion.
Speaking on the occasion, K Y S Manhas Retd Principal District & Session Judge and Chairman We The Humans asked people to sow as many ethnic varieties of fruit trees plants as possible as trees not only provide us oxygen, but also part of our food, timber for housing, fuel & medicinal herbs, we get from trees.
Capt Lalit Sharma IFS APCCF exhorted upon people not only to sow a plant sapling but also take its full care till it gets matured and becomes a full tree.
Prem Singh Patron of the trust informed that the trust, in collaboration with the Forest department, has already sowed more than 5000 saplings of ethnic varieties of trees plants in areas including Jammu, Samba and Doda districts of the UT. |
