Early Times Report JAMMU, July 25: An Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) Live For Others - Being Helpful Foundation in collaboration with NSS unit of Bhartiya College of Education, Udhampur organised a webinar on the topic Rain water Harvesting & Ground water Conservation "Catch The Rain". Dr. Siddhant Bhardwaj, from GDC (Boys) Kathua was the resource person for this very session, who shared how one can conserve rain water. He also shared different ways of harvesting rain water and ground water in which he taught the volunteers to collect and store rain, rather than allowing it to run off. Rainwater is collected from a roof-like surface and redirected to a tank, cistern, deep pit (well, shaft, or borehole), aquifer, or a reservoir with percolation, so that it seeps down and restores the ground water. In this session, Dr. Bhardwaj also interacted with the volunteers in which volunteers asked their queries regarding the topic. Around 100+ volunteers attended this virtual session of "Catch The Rain" . |
