9 people injured after vehicle plunges into gorge in Kupwara | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, July 25: As many as nine people were injured when a passenger vehicle plunged into a deep gorge in north Kashmir district of Kupwara on Sunday. Official sources said that a passenger vehicle skidded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge at Budnamal area of Chowkibal in Kupwara on Sunday morning. “A search and rescue operation was immediately launched and nine people, who were onboard the vehicle and were injured in the accident, were rescued,” they said. They said the injured were immediately taken to a local hospital, where their health condition is stated to be stable. “Police has registered a case and initiated investigation into the incident,” they added. Suspected militants snatch rifle from police constable in Kulgam Srinagar, Jul 25 (UNI) Suspected militants on Sunday snatched a service rifle from a police constable in broad daylight in south Kashmir district of Kulgam. Official sources said that unidentified militants overpowered a police constable at a checkpoint in Shamsipora crossing in Khudwani on Sunday and decamped with his service rifle. “Additional security forces have been rushed to the area and a search operation has been launched to nab the accused,” they said.
