GCOE organizes virtual symposium | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, July 29: Government College of Education, (GCOE) Jammu under the patronage of the Cluster University of Jammu, Nature Club along with NSS unit organized online poetry and symposium competition celebrating World Nature Conservation day. The event was celebrated to increase awareness about the best practices to protect our natural resources. The program was adroitly conducted by NSS Program Officer Dr. Shubhra Jamwal along with NSS volunteers. Dr. Kulvinder Kour (Principal of GCOE), applauded the efforts of the NSS unit and stressed that the World Nature Conservation Day acknowledges that a healthy environment is the foundation for a stable and healthy society. She also said that to ensure the well-being of the present and future generations, we all must behave as responsible human beings and participate in protecting and conserving our nature. Dr. Shalini Sharma (Convener, Nature Club, HOD of Environmental Sciences) was the guest speaker of this successful event. She emphasized on "Usage" and "Utilization" of natural resources and human responsibility for conservation of Nature. Prof. Seema Kumari, Prof. Shapia Shameem Bhatti and Prof. Sarita Dogra were the judges of this event. All the judges worked quickly and scored many performances of a wide variety of poems and symposium. Winners will be declared on college website by 1st August 2021. The volunteers who contributed to the successful organization of the event include Sourav Sharma, Suvidha Sambyal, Diksha Devi, Samreeti Verma, Ambica Mishra, Aakriti, Shail Bala, Komal, Sunakshi, Mahima. The program was highly interactive one wherein students shared their novel ideas and endeavours to preserve and conserve nature to achieve sustainable development. |
