Kishtwar cloudburst: Rescue operations resume | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 29: Rescue operations were resumed on Thursday morning to trace the 19 people who went missing in yesterday’s cloudburst at village Dachhan in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district. An official said that ADGP Jammu Zone Mukesh Singh, accompanied by Divisional Commissioner Raghav Langer, have left Kishtwar for Honzar, Dachhan to take stock of the situation. DIG DKR Range Udaya Bhaskar Billa and DDC Kishtwar Ashok Kumar are also accompanying them. He said SSP Kishtwar Shafqat Hussain Batt is already camping at Honzar and leading the rescue operations launched by Kishtwar Police in collaboration with District Administration, police, Army and SDRF. Meanwhile, District Police has established camps at Dangadooru and Soundar for receipt and dispatch of the relief and rescue materials for the flood affected people of Honzar village. Special teams have been formed and deputed from the District Police Lines, Kishtwar. |
