JAMMU, Aug 5: A magnificent 87 runs off just 54 balls by Ram Dayal guided Jammu United Cricket Club to script a stunning 4 wickets victory against RCC and enters into the final of KC Summer Cup being played at K C Sports Stadium.
Earlier, the skipper of RCC Anil won the toss and elected to bat first and posted a challenging 180 runs target on the scoreboard by losing 7 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. RCC was heading for a formidable total as they were 116 in 10 overs but Skipper of Jammu United Cricket Club Vivek Suri removed inform Rohan Koul & Anil in 2 successive deliveries & kept a lid on the scoring rate.
Rohan Koul made 59 runs in 33 balls and Satish made 51 runs in 36 balls for RCC. From bowling side, Vivek Suri & Rahul Khatri shared two wickets each whereas Ram Dayal & B L Yadav shared wicket apiece.Chasing 181 to enter into finals, Ravinder Dhahiya & Amit Kumar set the tone for Jammu United Cricket Club and played attaching game. Amit Kumar departs in 3rd over on 11 runs not before giving a good start to the team. But RCC bowlers kept the pressure on Jammu United Cricket Club batsmen by taking wickets at regular intervals. But then came the most experienced campaigner of J&K Ranji team Ram Dayal who played yet another terrific knock for the team.
There was a session in the match when it seems that RCC would win easily, but Ram Dayal was with different ideas. With 41 runs in last 12 balls & then 23 runs in last 6 balls, he played an exceptional innings hitting 6,4,6 on 3, 4 & 5th delivery not before Rathore hits the very 1st ball of final over for six.
Ram Dayal remained unbeaten on 87 runs in just 54 balls & Ravinder Dahiya scored 36 runs in 21 balls. For RCC Vishal & Prithvi share 2 wickets apiece whereas Johnson took 1 wicket. Ram Dayal from Jammu United Cricket Club was adjudged as Man of the Match for his splendid performance
