DC Udhampur reviews arrangements for Independence Day celebration | | | Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, Aug 5: For the smooth celebration of Independence Day 2021 at District headquarter, Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Indu Kanwal Chib convened a meeting of District Officers of various departments to review the arrangements. Additional District Development Commissioner, Kanta Devi; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Syed Khan; CPO, Rajeev Bhushan; ACR Vikar Giri and other senior officers of Civil Administration, Police, and CRPF were present in the meeting. Detailed discussions were held on seating arrangement, barricading, security, traffic regulation, drinking water and power supply, sanitation, first-aid, PAS and fire-tenders etc. It was decided in the meeting that the main function would be organized in the premises of Government Degree College for Boys, Udhampur where the VIP would unfurl the National flag at 9:00 AM and take salute at an impressive march past of 9 contingents drawn from District Police, SKPA, CRPF, Home Guard Volunteers, NSS and NCC besides SKPA band troupe. The function would start with the Shehnai Vadan programme in the morning by the Information department. In view of COVID-19 pandemic , the DC reiterated that theme based cultural programme/ Skits like Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav, Tejaswini, Corona awareness, Catch the rain etc will be organized and recorded by following all COVID- 19 SOPs well in advance and recording of these programmes will be played through virtual mode on the occasion. It was further decided in the meeting that Covid-19 RTPCR test will be mandatory for all the participants who are participating in the march past. The DDC directed the XEns PHE & PDD to ensure seating, barricading and drinking water arrangements, besides uninterrupted power supply at the function site. The Chief Executive Officer, Municipality was asked to maintain cleanliness in the town as well as at the venue. Regarding First aid arrangements, the Chief Medical Officer was directed to ensure the deployment of one ambulance along with a team of Doctors and necessary medicine till the end of function.District Police and Traffic Police would ensure security and traffic management, the DDC added. The DC directed the concerned officers to put in place all the necessary arrangements well in time for the smooth and enthusiastic celebrations of the National function. She called upon the officers and employees of all departments to remain present at the venue on the day of function. |
