Jammu, Aug 5: Condoling the demise of the legendary Dogri novelist, lyricist and poetess - Padma Shri Padma Sachdev, Chairman J&K Intellectual Civil Society, New Delhi - Sh. S.S.Sodhi said that “Padma JI’s death is a loss for Dogri Literature and Duggar Community, which can never be compensated.” Lauding her high achievements such as Padma Shri and Kabir Samman, Sodhi reminisced her unforgettable contributions made as to the first female novelist and poetess in Dogri Language which set an inspiring tone for other female writers in the region. S.S.Sodhi also highlighted some of the Hindi novels written by her - Amrai, Diwankhana, Tainthian, and many more which won the heart of the millions. Her immortal Dogri songs sung by Lata Mangeshkar and Hindi songs such as, “Aankhi Dekhi”, put to music by J.P.Kaushik, “ Son re,tujhe Kaise milo”, sung by Mohd. Rafi and Sulakshna Pandit and many more will forever be remembered by the world for their heart touching qualities and mass appeal. The immense contribution in Literature and novels of Padma Sachdev Ji and her glorious achievements won, will always be honoured by the world, particularly the Duggar Community of Jammu & Kashmir. “ She will be remembered as the Golden Daughter of Jammu & Kashmir”, said S.S.Sodhi. Born in Purmandal Village of Jammu’s Samba district, the renowned Dogri poetess and writer Padma Sachdev JI breathed her last on Wednesday. She was 81. |
