Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 10: A park in the heart of Jammu city has been turned into a garbage dumping site puncturing the tall claims of the administration that beautification of Jammu city especially parks is being carried out at a fast pace.
The park is being used to dump building materials as well as debris. Till last year many children and adults used to throng the park for recreational activities but it has lost its pristine glory due to the official apathy.
Besides being turned into a garbage dumping yard the construction material and debris is being dumped there and the authority responsible for maintaining the park is in deep slumber.
The pathways in the park are in a dilapidated condition, and benches are broken.
The concerned authority had spent huge amounts to maintain the park but the same was ruined by turning it into a dumping yard. The children as well as citizens have expressed dismay over the pathetic condition of the park and are accusing the people responsible for maintaining it of messing up the affairs.
Though the park is situated in the middle of the Jammu city yet no proper care has been taken to maintain it. The administration has turned a blind eye towards the park and the BJP leaders are just offering lip service about turning Jammu into a smart city.
Early Times will give a one year subscription of the newspaper to one of the readers who identifies the park and the area. The contestants can call on 9906904444.
