GDC Ramnagar organizes poster making competition

RAMNAGAR, Aug 12: Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav Committee and NSS Unit of Govt Degree College Ramnagar organized a Poster -making competition today on the theme "Say No to Drugs" in the backdrop of week-long celebration of Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav on 75th Independence Day under the patronage of the principal of the college Dr. Udhey Bhanu.
The objective to organize such competition was to save the young generation from the bad addiction of Drugs as most of our youth have involved in this problem now a days. The main purpose of this event is to make the youth aware of the bad consequences of drugs on their mental and physical health. Principal of the college, in his address, exhorted upon the deadly consequences of Drugs on mental, physical, academic health and social, personal and family life of our youth. So, we all should try to avoid this bad addiction as well as guide our family members and society too to get rid of it so that our society can move towards a right direction. He also congratulated and inspired the NSS Volunteers and other students to participate in the event so enthusiastically and the organizers for organizing such event to aware the students at the broader level. Almost 35 students and volunteers of the college participated in the event vigorously. They presented their point of views in their own different ways. Rohini Thakur Semester 2nd secured 1st position, Sarishta Semester 4th secured 2nd position and Neha Thakur Semester 4th and Laiba Banday Semester 2nd ranked third in this competition. Prof. Suresh Dogra, HOD Physics, Prof. Shoba Rani, HOD Dogri, Prof. Neetu Sharma, Assistant Prof. Dogri were the Jury members on the occasion.
