SPMR college organizes plantation drive | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 12: NSS Units of Govt S.P.M.R College of Commerce Jammu organized various activities including cleanliness drive, poster making and Patrotic songs to mark independence day celebrations. The NSS volunteers also planted 20 medicinal saplings in the college to commemorate the 75th Independence Day. Speaking on the occasion, Principal of the college, Prof R. S Jamwal addressed the students regarding the contribution of a great leader for our Independence and how we should also follow their path of self reliance and self control. He also appreciated the efforts of the student volunteers for initiating the cleanliness drive in the college after the pendemic following all the SOPs of Covid-19. He said that cleanliness is very important for physical and mental well being of an individual. It is essential for everyone to be aware of cleanliness, hygiene and sanitation as it helps to ward off various various diseases that are caused due to poor hygienic conditions. The posters were also made by the students on the topic 'Swachta' which were very educative and inspirational. Patriotic songs were also sung by the volunteers to commemorate the 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav'. NSS Coordinator, Dr. Sandhya Bharadwaj was also present on the occasion and the whole programme was organised and coordinatined under the guidance of NSS Programme Officers Professor Apfan Ali and Professor Rajni Bala. |
