| GDC, Jindrah organizes plantation drive | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 12: The Government Degree College (GDC) Jindrah conducted a series of events today to mark Librarans Day; International Youth Day and hold a Plantation Drive under "Azaadi ka Amrit Mahautsav" under the guidance of Prof Rajshree Dhar, the Principal, GDC, Jindrah.
The first activity conducted was plantation drive which was held at Jakh Baba temple, Jakhyari, Dhan Panchayat. A total no. of twenty five volunteers alongwith twenty locals planted around two hundred saplings of different tree viz; Kenar, Peepal, Amla etc. Ram Singh Jandrahia, Pappu; Sham Singh, Virender Singh Panch; Vishal Dev Singh; Kuldeep Singh Thakur and Social Activist Maheshwar Singh also cooperated with full enthusiasm. The whole plantation drive was done under the supervision of Dr. Sunil Sharma, Program officer, NSS Unit of GDC Jindrah.
The second activity revolves around the "Librarians Day" which is celebrated each year on 12th of August to mark the birth anniversary of Dr. S.R. Ranganathan, Father of Library Science. Dr. Seema, Librarian share a video lecture on " IPR and types on the ocassion to aware students and staff about intellectual property rights and its various types.
The third activity was conducted by Red Ribbon Club of GDC, Jindrah nder the supervision of Prof. Poonam Rainu to mark "International Youth Day 2021" wherein students were invited to share recipes of Traditional Dogra cuisine by capturing some pictures of the same. The students were also asked to write few lines depicting it's relevance in our traditional agricultural system and halt tetra packaging revolution. The whole activity was done under the theme "Transforming Food Systems: Youth Innovation for Human and Planetary Health".
All the activities were compiled by Dr. Seema. The Principal applauded the efforts made by all the teams and congratulated every one for conducting all the activities successfully. |
