DC Ramban flags off 'Freedom Run' under Fit India Movement

RAMBAN, Aug 13: Under the ongoing nationwide Azadi Ka Amrut, Mahotsav and celebration of 75th Independence Day a 'Fit India Movement' Freedom Run was today organized here at District Headquarter and in other parts of the district Ramban. The programme was organized by the Youth Services and Sports Department early in the morning.
Deputy Commissioner, Mussarat Islam flagged off the Freedom Run in presence of District Youth Services & Sports (DYSSO) Officer, Dharamveer Singh from the District Administrative Complex (DAC).
As many as 60 participants including students, sports enthusiasts, citizens and employees of DYSS ran for 2 Km from DAC to Phelti village.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that the aim of "Fit India Freedom Run 2.0" aims at to encourage people to take up fitness regimes such as sports and running and resolve to do a physical activity at least for 30 minutes daily and live by the motto 'Fitness ka Dose, Aadha Ghanta Roz.'
The District Information Centre, Ramban has provided wide publicity through electronic and print media for the event held under "Azadi Ka Amrut " Mahotsav.
