Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 13: In a major breakthrough, ahead of the Independence Day celebrations, security forces recovered a large cache of arms and ammunition, including grenades and detonators, from the woods in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir. "On specific inputs, joint teams of Doda Police, Special Operation Group, Army and paramilitary troops on Friday launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in Tanta Forests," police sources said. They said that during searches, a terrorist hideout was busted and a large quantity of arms and ammunition was seized. The recovery included, one Pistol, one 12 Bore Rifle, two country-made revolvers (Desi Katta), five grenades, eight UBGL rounds, Pika rounds (being counted), Ak-47 rounds (being counted), two Pistol rounds, detonators (being counted), one Pistol magazine, five Ak 47 magazines, one Binocular with cover, one Handheld Transmitter and Chipset, Black Cloth Patka, Khaki pouches and some documents (under scrutiny). "The area was cordoned but no arrest has been made so far while the investigations are in progress," said police sources. |
