| Patriotic poetry recitation programme held in GDC Kotranka | | |

Kotranka, Aug 13: Government Degree College Kotranka organized a patriotic poetry recitation competition among the students of the college today. The programme was organized under the aegis of ‘Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav’ to commemorate 75 years of India’s Independence.
Many students of the college recited their own composed poems and also the poems of other eminent poets of Hindi and Urdu Languages. Students were judged on the basis of their performance and Waseem Akram, Awais Rashid and Muneeb Zowar Alam secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal of the college Dr Rajinder Singh said that poetry is very beautiful way to express our feelings towards the nation and it has also played a great role in the struggle of India’s Independence. He asked students to read the literature to create their own niche on the basis of their interest.
At the end of lecture, vote of thanks was presented by Dr Mohd Mushtaq, coordinator of the programme and Nodal Officer ‘Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav’. |
