Dogra College organizes online event to commemorate 75th Independence Day

SAMBA, Aug 14: As the entire country proudly celebrates the 75th Independence Day, the NSS Unit of Dogra Degree College took the initiative to host a 4 day long online event for the celebration of Independence Day under the guidance and supervision of NSS Programme Officer, Dogra Degree College Balwant Parihar. The four day long online event includes Speech, Poster Making, Poetry & Online Quiz Competition. On day one, a speech competition based on the theme “Aatmanirbhar Bharat” was held. The programme was hosted by Aditi Khajuria and attended by staff and students of Dogra Degree College. The result for speech competition were as follows: Mohit Sharma (BBA 2nd Sem) and Saloni Sharma (B.Com 4th Sem) scored the first position, Shivanshi Sharma (B.Com 4th Sem) and Janvi Kour (BA 2nd Sem) scored the second position and Ritika Kundal (BA 2nd Sem) and Divya Choudhary (BA 4th Sem) scored the 3rd position.
On day two, Poster making competition was held which was based on the theme “75 glorious years of Indian Independence”. The participants in the event and presented their views in the form of posters. For poster making competition, Shubham Sharma (BA 4th Sem) held the first position, Komal Kundal (B.Com 4th Sem) and Shallu Devi (BA 6th Sem) scored second position and Parul Sharma (B.Com 2nd Sem) and Simran Khadgotra (BA 2nd Sem) scored the third position.
On day three, a poetry recitation competition was held which was based on the theme “Indian Culture”. The participants recited their poetry on the culture and tradition of India as per the theme of the day. For poetry recitation Darab Shokat Ali (BA 2ndSem) held the first position, Pallvi Choudhary (BA 2nd Sem) held the second position and Parul Sharma (B.Com 2nd Sem) held the third position.
The four day long online event will culminate on 15th of August wherein an online quiz competition on the theme “Indian Freedom Struggle” will be organized and e-certificates will be given to the first three highest scorers.
