Mayor kickstarts development works

Jammu, Aug 14: Chander Mohan Gupta Mayor Jammu Muniicipal Corporation alongwith Madam Anu Bali Councillor of ward no. 24, Sh. Surinder Chowdhary Councillor of ward no. 29 kick started development works by way of covering of drains by fixing iron gratings and R.C.C slabs in the Mohalla backside of Gurudwara Kalghidhar, Rehari Chungi of ward no. 24.
S. Ravinder Singh Technical Officer to Executive Engineer Division-V, Rajesh Sharma Assistant Executive Engineer, Sushil Magotra Junior Engineer & other Supervisory Staff of the said division as well as Sh. Naveen Bali, Atul Bakshi, Karan Sharma & other prominent inhabitants of the Rehari & its adjoining localities were also accompanied by the Mayor during the tour. Speaking on the occasion, Mayor said that it was the long pending demands of the locals as during rainy days especially the drains being open gets blocked and dirty water overflows on the roadside causes great hardships for the passersby to walk freely through the area due to water logging & after the sincere efforts of the concerned Councillor Madam Anu Bali, this work has been kick started today by the Engineering Section with an estimate cost of Rs. 33 lacs only in lieu of which all the uncovered drains of Rehari Colony will be covered by iron gratings as well as R.C.C slabs which will provide great relief to the locals as the lanes will also get widened after laying of iron gratings/ R.C.C slabs on the drains.
