Reasi police gets 11 FIR’s stay vacated from HC

Jammu, Aug 18: Reasi Police has achieved another mile stone, while meticulously and vigorously contesting long pending cases in which investigation or production of Charge Sheet in trial courts had been stayed by High Court of Jammu and Kashmir, resulting in vacation of stays & allowing the police to go ahead with investigation on merit of facts & evidences.
In March-2021 after taking over as SSP Reasi Shailender Singh, in crime review meeting observed that investigation in as many as 58 cases is at halt due to stay order imposed by High Court J&K-Jammu. Furthering on the issue, regular review & feedback from the special team constituted to follow the cases in the High Court, latest status reports were submitted in long pending stay cases, fresh rejoinders were filed wherever required, SrPO DPO Reasi was continuously in contact with the standing counsel and Advocate General of Government for High Court.
Follow up of these cases was sought by SSP on day to day basis and after hectic efforts Reasi Police succeeded in getting stay orders vacated in eleven long pending cases. 11 cases in which stay order is vacated include three cases of rape, three cases of cheating and forgery, two cases of kidnapping.
Investigation in these eleven cases which was pending since long due to imposition of Stay order include case FIR number 45/2013 US 366, 109 RPC of Police Station Arnas, 89/2015 U/S 420, 467, 468, 471, 409, 120-B RPC of Police Station Mahore, 30/2019 U/S 341, 323, 452, 147 RPC of Police Station Chasana, 91/2020 US 376 IPC of Police Station Arnas, 85/2011 U/S 376 RPC of Police Station Reasi, 87/2011 US 467, 468, 471 RPC of Police Station Mahore, 110/2015 U/S 223, 224 RPC of Police Station Reasi, 76/2014 U/S 420, 467, 468 RPC of Police station Mahore, 180/2015 US 363 RPC of Police Station Katra, 55/2013 U/S 457, 363, 376, 147, 212 RPC of Police Station Chassana.
Petition order 561-A. no 94/2017MP no 1/2017 is quashed. Investigation is resumed in all these cases & will be concluded on merits at the earliest. SSP Reasi geared up investigating officers of district police Reasi, also identified as many as 302 long pending cases & inquests for want of pending reports of FSL, medical examination & revenue department. District Police Office took up with concerned departments & follow up was made through deployment of dedicated officers.
More than 300 reports were procured & equal number of cases of investigation have been brought to logical conclusion in short time. Reasi Police completed investigations in many other cases during lockdown period and finished desk work of feeding in CCTNS portal for more than 225 cases and are being physically produced before the court of law.
Singh conveyed that 47 other stayed cases is being followed up on day to day basis in High Court for vacation of imposed order. Further conveyed that prevention and detection of crime is the main duty of Police and it can be possible only with free and fair investigation of the cases so that accused can be convicted & victims get their due justice through the law of the land.
