JAMMU, Aug 18: The Diocese of Jammu-Srinagar Education Society (DJSES), under the aegis of Most Rev. Bp. Ivan Pereira, the President, DJSES and Rev. Fr. T.S. Jacob, the Chairman, Diocesan Education Board, held an award ceremony to give accolades to such educators who have spent their lifetime harboring the true spirit of excellence in education in the diocese.
The awards were instituted in the fond memory of His Grace Most Rev. Arch Bishop Benedict Mar Gregorious, a renowned educationist who was an epitome of selfless dedication for countless people who have reaped the benefit of the innumerable educational institutions instituted and nurtured by this great educationist de nos jours.
The coveted Arch Bishop Benedict Mar Gregorious Memorial Best Teacher Award for the year was presented to Shri B.L. Koul who selflessly served as lecturer in various government schools of Jammu & Kashmir division as well as a senior faculty at St. Paul's High School, Gangyal for nearly two decades. Rev. Fr. T.S. Jacob also placed Mrs. Anuradha Vaid and Shri Daniel Nair on pedestal and gave them encomiums during the illustrious ceremony while encouraging future academics to emulate such prodigious pedagogues.
