Bureaucrats have turned dictators after scrapping of Article 370: ABVP
8/30/2021 11:58:11 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Aug 30: Secretary of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, Mukesh Manhas, on Monday said that bureaucrats have turned “dictators” after the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.
While talking to Early Times, Manhas said, “When Article 370 was scrapped people were told that the role of bureaucracy will be minimized but after the abrogation of J&K’s special status, bureaucrats have become three times more powerful and are terrorizing the people to the hilt.” Manhas said that ABVP activists were not protesting against the setting up of an oxygen plant in the area but they were demonstrating against the demolition of a science laboratory in the school premises. “In hilly areas schools rarely get facilities like laboratories, washrooms and libraries. The land for the school has been donated by the local people for the education of their children. The bureaucrats could have set up the oxygen plant anywhere in Ramban area on the state land. Why did they choose a school? They need to answer it.”
Manhas said, “We are not against the setting up of an oxygen plant in Ramban but the bureaucrats should have taken the civil society members into confidence before identifying the site to set up the oxygen plant.”
He said that no one uttered a word about the students, including girls, being beaten and detained for nearly 48-hours. “We condemn the act and have decided to move court to seek action against the officers who manhandled the students, who were protesting peacefully.”
