JAMMU, Sept 2: Rekha Mahajan, Secretary, Jammu and Kashmir unit of BJP, has hailed the outstanding performance of Avani Lekhara as an example to inspire other such Indians who may have dreams to reach heights of success in their lives.
Avani Lekhara, being born as a normal child, got spinal cord injury and was paralysed below the waist in 2012 when whole Lekhara family met with an accident. It changed her life.
Paraolympic Games or Paralympics, also known as the Games of the Paralympiad, are a periodic series of international multi-sport events involving athletes with a range of disabilities, including impaired muscle power, impaired passive range of movement, limb deficiency, leg length difference, short stature etc. There are Winter and Summer Paralympic Games, which, since, the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea, are held almost immediately following the respective Olympic Games. All Paralympic Games are governed by the International Paralympic Committee (IPC). |
