SRINAGAR, Sept 2: Senior separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani, who breathed his last late last night, was buried early Thursday morning at Hyderpora in the city outskirts.
Due to Covid-induced restrictions, only close relatives of Geelani were allowed to offer ?Nimaz Jinazah?, official sources said.
He was laid to rest at Hyderpora before the dawn.
Meanwhile, all roads leading to Hyderpora residence of Geelani have been closed to prevent assembly of people. However, only those with valid air tickets and medical emergencies were being allowed after verification of their documents.
However, those coming from some parts of the uptown were being allowed to move towards civil lines. |
