Mayor reviews development works in Bandhu Rakh

JAMMU, Sept 2: Chander Mohan Gupta Mayor Jammu along with Atul kumar secretary JMC today conducted an extensive tour at Municipal land at Bandhu Rakh and laid foundation stone for construction of storage shed for cattle as well as office/Residential Quarter for Municipal Veterinary staff at Municipal land Bandhu Rakh with an allotted amount of Rs. 26 Lakh only. Speaking as the occasion, Mayor told that the limit of JMC has been extended from119Kms to 190Kms from all over the sides of Jammu and the present cattle pond situated at Dogra Hall Jammu does not have proper space for keeping the stray animals lifted from the various parts of city and in order minimize this problem, there is dire need of construction another cattle pond where best possible medical treatment & feed for sick/stray animals be provided. Besides this, Mayor also conducted a Mega Plantation drive by planting number of shady, herbal and fruit plants with in the premises of Municipal land at Bandhu Rakh for eco-friendly & green atmosphere in the locality. He further told that the work of construction of protection wall/chain fencing around the 72 Kanals of this acquired land is under process for protecting the land from any type of illegal encroachments as well as prestigious project for collection/segregation of single used plastics by UNDP is running successfully. Moreover Garbage collection centre having required number of pits is also going on smoothly, the construction work of bathrooms/toilets will also be completed shortly along with commissioning of weigh Bridge for smooth &accurate collection of plastics, & other useable items & its further disposal in a proper manner.
Sunil Singh Divisional Forest officer along with field staff of urban forestry Jammu, Satish Kumar langer Executive Engineer, Janak singh Saini Assistant Executive Engineer, S. Manjot Singh Junior Engineer of Division IV, Sanjeev kumar along with team of UNDP, as well as field staff of Parks & Gardens of JMC were also accompanied the Mayor during the tour of the area.
