Early Times Report

Srinagar, Sept 6: Life is limping back to normal after remaining affected four days in the Kashmir valley on Monday.
However, all roads leading to ?Eidgah Martyrs grave yard?, have been closed since early this morning to prevent people from gathering there following ?Eidgah Chalo? call on social media probably from across the border. Drones were also being used to keep a strict vigil in the area. Business and other activities came to halt on Thursday after authorities imposed restrictions under Section 144 CrPC as a precautionary measure following the death of separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani on Wednesday night at his Hyderpora residence in the city outskirts.
Shops and business establishments reopened and traffic was also plying in Srinagar, including historic Lal Chowk, the nerve centre of the city. Life was also normal in the rest of the city and outskirts where people were busy in their normal work. Government offices, banks and other financial establishments were functioning normally.
However, all the gates of historic Jamia Masjid remained closed. The Jamia market and nearby markets also remained shut. Majority shops and business establishments also remained closed in the down town when a UNI correspondent visited there.
Meanwhile, following Eidgah Chalo call from across the border on social media, security force in strength were deployed in and around the Martyrs grave yard ?Shaheed Mazar?. All roads leading there have been closed by the security forces since early this morning. However, people, particularly patients, paramedical staff and doctors going to S K Institute of Sciences (SKIMS) were being allowed to go after their identity cards were being checked.
Reports of near normalcy were also received from other districts and tehsil headquarters in the valley.
