Regional Director RBI (J&K and Ladakh) interacts with ITBP personnel

LEH, Sept 7: Officials from Reserve Bank of India interacted with ITBP personnel at Leh. The event was presided over by Kamal Prasad Patnaik, Regional Director, Reserve Bank of India (J&K and Ladakh).
Sandeep Mittal (General Manager), Dheeraj Kumar Arora (AGM), Kirty Bhushan (Manager), BVS Venugopal (AM) and Parminder Jit Singh (AM) from RBI and Yatendera Kumar (DGM, PNB) and T Morup (Convenor, UTLBC) were also present during the occasion. ITBP officers and jawans enthusiastically participated in the event. Regional Director in his inaugural address talked about various roles that the central bank plays as central monetary authority in the country. He stated that RBI has been actively conducting outreach/ financial literacy programmes in the region as RBI highly values Financial Inclusion and Financial Literacy and consider them the keys to Financially Empowered India.
Patnaik urged the people in attendance to use digital banking and assured them about the safety of the use of the same along with advising them to stay away from the lure of fake and fictitious lottery/cheap money transfer offers.
He further talked about the grievance redressal mechanism offered by the banks and RBIs Banking Ombudsman Scheme for complaints by the customers. Various banking related queries of ITBP personnel were addressed on the spot. Gautam Sharma from ITBP thanked officials of RBI Jammu for interacting with ITBP personnel and imparting an informative and content rich event and hoped that such events would make the audience more knowledgeable and aware about the various aspects of banking and digital banking in particular.
