BJYM leader Ranjit calls on VC JU, discusses admissions issue | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 13: BJP Yuva Morcha (BJYM) State Secretary Ranjit Singh called on Vice Chancellor of Jammu University (JU) to discuss the difficulties being faced by the students of Akhnoor and Choki Chaura Sub-Division for the last few days. While interacting with the VC, JU MK Dhar, the BJYM leader requested him to resolve the matter. VC of Jammu University seriously listened the issues discussed by Ranjit Singh and he immediately called upon the Director Colleges and asked him to intervene in this matter and take appropriate steps for the admission of students. Ranjeet Singh while addressing the media persons said that the Degree Colleges were opened by the government in far flung areas of Jammu district so that no student is deprived of higher education, but there were constant complaints from Akhnoor Degree College that hundreds of students, who have passed with good percentage are deprived of admissions in this present session. He further said that there were number of complaints from students that Principal GDC Akhnoor is not behaving properly and even after increasing the seats by the higher authorities, she is not admitting the students, in connection with which today he met the Vice Chancellor of Jammu University, who in view of the seriousness of the matter, asked the Director Colleges to immediately take a decision in favor of the students. |
