| Golden opportunity to highlight issues before council of ministers: VKS | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 14: Vishal Khatri Sabha (VKS) appreciated Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led BJP government at the Centre for kick-starting a mega outreach programme in Jammu and Kashmir with nearly 70 Union ministers are likely to visit the Union Territory in the next nine weeks. In a meeting of Sabha, President Devender Seth said that Ministers will have direct interaction with the people, administration and representatives of the Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) and address the challenges they are facing. It is a great step as they encounter issues that are outside their sphere of responsibility, they will report them in a comprehensive manner to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and Prime Minister's Office (PMO).
Seth expressed the hope that first preference of these ministers would be to resolve the people's issues on the spot and those which are beyond the scope would be referred to the MHA and the PMO for early redress. Terming the initiative unique, Seth said that it is golden opportunity for the people of J&K to highlight their issues before the council of Ministers without any middlemen, thus giving a lifetime chance to J&K residents.
Seth meantime demanded early restoration of statehood to J&K and assembly polls to ensure that golden days that used to be the characteristics of the erstwhile state will be back soon. |
