JAMMU, Sept 14: The foundation day of ‘Sanjeevani Sharda Kendra’ was celebrated today on the occasion of Sharda-Ashtami, in the Kendra premises at Anandnagar, Bohri. Since it’s foundation in the year 1995, every year, this occasion is celebrated with fervor and gaiety to remember and revere the sacred Goddess of knowledge and learning Mata Sharda, whose ancient temple is located in Kishanganga (Neelam) Valley, just beyond the Line of Control in Pakistan occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The programme started with offering of flowers followed by Sharda Vandana. Prof. J. P. Sharma, Vice-Chancellor, SK University of Agriculture Sciences and Technology, Jammu was the Chief Guest and Raj Nehru, Vice Chancellor, Vishwakarma Skill University, Gurugram Haryana, presided over the function. 14th September is being observed as the Martyr’s Day Balidan Diwas of Kashmiri Hindus which coincided this year with the foundation day of the Kendra. To commemorate and pay homage to the martyrs of Kashmiri Hindu community, a two minute silence was observed. As per past practice this year the Sharda Puraskar was conferred on Martyre Late Justice Nila Kanth Ganjoo which was presented to his son Shri Vasant Kumar Ganjoo. On this occasion Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between the Vishwakarma Skill University, Haryana and Sanjeevani Sharda Kendra (SSK) to revive and promote Sharada script under the provisions of propagating Indian languages in their original script. |
