Samba Police foils bovine smuggling bid | | | Early Times Report SAMBA, Sept 17: Continuing its drive against bovines smuggling, District Police Samba foiled an attempt to smuggle bovines by rescuing 19 bovines after arresting a bovine smuggler in the jurisdiction of Police Station Ghagwal. A Police Party of PS Ghagwal, while performing vehicle checking duty at naka NHW Tapyal, Ghagwal signaled to stop a truck bearing Regd No JK02BH-0467 which was coming from Kathua side and moving towards Valley. On seeing the naka party, the driver accelerated the speed of vehicle and tried to fled away from the spot. But the alert cops after successful chase, apprehended the driver alongwith truck few metres away from the naka point. During checking of the vehicle, 19 bovines were found laden inside the vehicle without any permission. The accused driver identified as Nisar Ahmed Khan, S/o Gh Qadir Khan R/o Rakhi-Brah Anantnag has been arrested on spot. All the cattle were rescued and shifted to safer place. The vehicle used for transporting bovines was also seized on spot. In this regard, a case FIR No 165/2021 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act stands registered at PS Ghagwal and investigation taken up. |
