| YRS demands holiday on birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh | | |  Early Times Report
REASI, Sept 17: A meeting of Yuva Rajput Sabha was organized by the people of Reasi District.
In this meeting heavy crowd of youth joined YRS and demand for holiday on Maharaja Hari Singh ji birth anniversary in the presence of YRS president Rajan Singh Happy along with whole team.
The members of Sabha said that they have been pressing for the declaration of holiday on Maharaja's birth anniversary since long but the government has failed to address the demand. "September 23 should be declared as public holiday since he has ruled the erstwhile State of J&K and has been Maharaja of state from 1925 after his forefathers," they said.
They said that Maharaja Hari Singh gained independence for Jammu and Kashmir from British rule and his services to Jammu and Kashmir cannot be forgotten. It is high time to honor Maharaja Hari Singh and a public holiday be declared on his birth anniversary in the UT of J&K, he said. |
