No fresh COVID-19 case reported in Ladakh | | | Early Times Report LEH, Sept 19: No fresh case of COVID-19 was reported in Ladakh on Saturday, with the number of active cases staying at 109, officials said on Sunday. The overall tally of COVID cases in the Union Territory stands at 20,702. Since the outbreak of the pandemic last year, Ladakh has registered 207 COVID-related deaths -- 149 in Leh and 58 in Kargil. The officials said a total of 4,640 people, including travellers coming by air and road, were subjected to COVID-19 screening on Saturday and all of them were found negative. There was no change in the testing pattern that remained the same despite 71 people, mostly students, testing positive for the infection a day earlier, they said. The Leh administration ordered closure of all government and private schools for 15 days from September 18 to October 2 after several students were found be infected by the virus during a special drive at Druk Padma Karpo School in Shey. No COVID-related death was reported from the UT on Saturday. At present, there are 106 active cases in Leh and three in Kargil. A total of 20,386 people have recovered from COVID-19 till now here.
